The architecture team are just completing a fully detailed working model at 1:66.6 scale of a wind turbine and a 1:20 scale model of the interior of the turbine nacelle for the Seawind Group. The models will be on display at several wind energy exhibitions in Europe, Asia and America.

The Amalgam Group are frequently commissioned to make models for renewable energy and eco projects, and each comes with its own challenge. This time the problem was how to pack the stepper motor, electronic control and fan into the small nacelle, but when asked how tough this engineering quandary had been, expert model maker Mike Quarry answered, "It was a breeze!"
